 Why the Nonconformist?

Every now and then we produce a wine that doesn't fit our regular Warden Abbey blends so that we can bring you the best wine of the vintage.  This one-off blend of all four of our grape varieties is inspired by local legend John Bunyan who also did not conform to type.   The front label is based on a famous picture of Bunyan’s “Dream”. While Bunyan dreamed of a Pilgrim’s Progress, our dream was of a vineyard managed by and for the local community.  The label shows Bunyan in front of a row of vines leading up to the Warden Abbey landmark.

Tasting Note

“Sweet fruit on the nose has depth,  and the palate starts with apricots and tropical fruits. Behind the sweetness and richness there is freshness -  a touch of lime with hints of tangerines - yet it fills out on the back palate with apricot and yellow peach fleshiness. The finish is fragrant and fresh with flavours that linger.”   Derek Smedley, Master of Wine   93 points
