Slim pickings this year

Almost 50 volunteers and 15 students turned out to pick the grapes on 19th October - thank you for such fantastic support!  Harvest was a couple of weeks later than usual thanks to a cold spring.  The wet conditions throughout the year have meant its not been a good year for English vineyards, and Warden Abbey is no exception.  But the great turnout we had on harvest day meant that although the total crop is small, we've been able to rigorously hand select the best grapes, and the flavours are promising.

Grape-picking is always a fun event though, and we were all still smiling as we tucked into the post-harvest lunch and enjoyed a glass or two of Warden Abbey wine!
