Grow Your Tenner and donate a vine: Give £10 today!

Please consider supporting our Donate a Vine campaign to help restore this historic vineyard.
Please support us by donating up to £10 on-line through the LocalGiving website to buy vines to restore the historic vineyard at Warden Abbey. The campaign lasts until 18th December 2015.

Why Donate a Vine?
Our vines are now nearly 30 years old and vine numbers and productivity are in decline as the vines age. We desperately need to get back to full productivity for the vineyard to become financially viable in the longer term so that the future of this historic vineyard as a community and educational resource is secured. Of course, this appeal is about so much more than planting vines.

Your support will mean that we can continue to work with other local charities and schools to develop educational, social & therapeutic horticulture, employment, heritage and wildlife projects on this historic site.

Your £10 pays for a new vine to be bought and planted.

As well as your name going on our Roll of Donors, you will be invited to join us to plant your vines in the spring or, if you prefer, we will plant them for you.

Thanks to your generous support for our 2014 campaign, the first new vines for almost 30 years were planted at Warden Abbey earlier this year - we bought over 200 new vines, planted over two days in May by donors and volunteers. Not only that, but Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity won the Fundraising Innovation Category of the first ever Grow Your Tenner awards which recognises the charity that ran the most effective, unique and inspired fundraising campaign nationwide!

We've set our sights this year on a target of £2,000 which would mean we could plant another 200 Bacchus vines next spring to mark the 30th Anniversary of the vineyard's establishment in 1986.

Please do help us to make the 2015 campaign every bit as successful.

How does the scheme work?

Under the scheme, each eligible charity nationwide has the opportunity to access up to £1,000 of match-funding for one-time donations of up to £10, and up to £9,000 for new monthly direct debit donations made on the LocalGiving website but only while national funds last. Match-funding for Grow Your Tenner 2015 has been generously provided by a private philanthropist.

One-time donations will be matched pound-for-pound up to £10, and monthly donations up to £10 per month for 3 months.

Don't forget to chose to Gift Aid your donation - a donation of £10 with gift aid will provide the charity typically with £21.67.

I would like to donate more than £10 - what do I do?

The scheme only matches donations of up to £10.  If you make a one-off single donation of £50, for example, the charity only receives £10 of match funding.

But if you would like to donate more than £10, you can still double your impact:
  • you can make up to five "one-off" donations of up to £10, each of which will be match funded.  Fifty pounds spread over five donations of £10 would result in a donation to the charity of over £100 with Gift Aid.
  • or you can set up a monthly direct debit which will attract match-funding of up to £10 each month for three months. 3 x £10 monthly donations via direct debit, with Gift Aid, will typically result in an overall donation of £65.31

Yes, I would like to donate.

Click on the logo or link below. Its very straightforward -  for one-off donations you don't have to sign up or register and you can donate anonymously if you wish. If you would like to join us to plant your vines next Spring, please be sure to respond to our message confirming your donation.
