Experience wine at the cutting edge!
Please help with our great grape harvest on Sunday 18th October
Finally! After an August that lacked oomph, the late September sunshine has woven its magic in the vineyard and sugar levels are finally taking off.   At last we can set the date for this year's harvest and start the countdown to the big day - an exciting/nerve-racking time while we hope the weather and the pheasants will treat us kindly so we have a big crop.

We had a fantastic amount of support last year, with 65 pickers, and we hope we can get a similar number this year so that we can pick the whole vineyard in one day. Harvest day is hard work but it is always a lot of fun and immensely satisfying. We start at 8.30 am so that we can get the lorry away to the winery by around 3pm. We'll be laying on a delicious lunch with wine. Full instruction will be given so newcomers are very welcome, and it will also be lovely to catch up with those of you who are veterans. This year we'll be picking on:

Sunday 18th October, starting 8.30am for briefing session.

If you can help, please email me as soon as possible to book your place  - last year we soon became full up! If you can reply by Monday 12th October that would be really helpful because we need to know numbers for catering.  Reply to:  info@wardenvineyard.org.uk or tel 07981 113714.  We will then send pickers all the info about the day and what you will need, and we can get an idea of numbers for catering. Please note that we need to pick what ever the weather on the day throws at us.  If exceptionally we do have to cancel, we will contact all pickers.
